Toronto based designer, Cassandra Elizabeth is creating a new definition of sustainable leadership – one that is rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, quality and longevity. Her purpose is to bring more responsible clothing options to Canada, committed to offering ethical essentials and simplicity you can sustain.
The most sustainable thing we can do is to shop in our own closets. As Canadians, we wear approximately 30% of the clothing we already have. So where is the rest of it going?
Closet is packed yet you have nothing to wear, and nothing fits right, and you’re bored of your current style. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. The most common reason people want to work with a stylist is because they want a whole new identity and with that comes the desire for a whole new wardrobe.
STOP what you’re doing. You don’t need a whole new wardrobe, just fresh eyes on the gems you already own. Sometimes when you wear the same outfits multiple times, you can lose sight of how great the items are on their own. Editing your closet does not mean getting rid of items you no longer wear. It’s about figuring out why you don’t wear them, and giving them new life.
Next time you go shopping here are some questions to ask yourself;
Can I immediately think of three items that go with that I already own?
Do I own something similar?
Is this only trendy today, or will I wear it in a year from now?
Chances are, you already own the items you feel and look best in, so uncover them, and give them new life!
